Center for Excellence in Advocacy
The center, directed by Professor Jack Harrison, who is recognized as a litigator in The Best Lawyers in America, helps students develop advocacy skills that range from interviewing clients at the beginning of a case through trial and appeals. Center programs include symposia, practicums, and student competitions judged by practicing lawyers.
Law + Informatics Institute
The institute focuses scholarly and practical attention at the intersections of law, technology, information, and society to help students develop combined problem-solving skills in those areas. The institute often co-sponsors programs with the College of Informatics.
Center for Law and Entrepreneurship
The center helps students prepare to represent business and entrepreneurial clients or to apply their law school training in non-traditional ways. Students have opportunities to develop important skills for what is known as the entrepreneurial eco-system of entrepreneurs, investors, accountants, and lawyers, and to collaborate with entrepreneurial ventures.
W. Bruce Lunsford Academy for Law, Business + Technology
The honors program offers specialized courses in law, business, and technology to Lunsford Scholars and other students, and sponsors symposia for students and lawyers. It is designed to help students develop inter-disciplinary approaches to problem-solving and law practice management through principles of law and business, and use of technology.
Center on Addiction Law & Policy
The Center on Addiction Law & Policy focuses on developing new approaches to how law and policy can provide solutions for reducing the human toll of addiction. It is a venue for critical thinking and exchanges of ideas, through academic research, lectures and forums, which policy-makers and addiction specialists can adopt or adapt in their communities. The director of the center is Professor Alex Kreit, who is widely recognized for his work and expertise in the area of addiction law.
